Dark room ? It felt like walking into a dark room, and you stumble into people sitting at the bar & restaurant enjoying their favorite wines & foods. You need a torch 🔦 to beam into the menu to identify what you want to drink & eat. We have ordered octopus & barramundi and the knowledgeable French sommelier recommended a special white wine to go along. You can see an Asian guy cook / scorch the foods in front of the bar. Surprisingly the foods tasted good, and wine was great also. After a while your eyes adjusted to the darkness & you start to appreciate the intimacy & depth of the foods & wine. The place is also quite noisy (as bad as a Chinese restaurant). Nevertheless we have enjoyed the evening although feeling still hungry… This place is good for all types of couples & lovers…
First time back here for 10 years. Food, atmosphere, staff all outstanding (just a touch slow on taking our food order, but no big deal). Excellent wine by the glass selection. Entrees were the most delectable green olives and really good Gruyère croquettes. Mains were spanned crab spaghetti and spinach and ricotta cannelloni, both excellent. Nice atmosphere, intimate and not noisy. Someone below complained about how dark it was. It’s not that dark and anyway that’s one of the things that makes this joint so charming. Recommended.
Our first time experience was incredibly educating. Our sommelier Ruairi was very well versed and provided us with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting options and snacks provided. We loved the courtyard area where we were seated. On our next visit we would love to sample some of the menu options as the food looks very inviting. The ambience was extremely chilled and we will definitely be back soon!
Beautiful, Cozy and quaint. I brought my sister in law here to celebrate a late Mothers day and we had a great time. We came off peak around 3:30pm and sat in the courtyard, though we could have chosen any area. The servers and sommelier were knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Their wine list is incredible and the menu is small but delicious. They even re-corked the bottle of wine for us to takeaway, as weren't able to finish it. If I had one critic, is that the steak was a bit sinuey and not as tender as it looked. All the other dishes were divine. From beginning to end is was very enjoyable, and I highly reccomend :)
We requested bar seating when we booked many weeks ago. Sadly, we were seated out the back and wow the vibe is terrible. Entirely different venue and a total let down. Service was good despite seating us in what could have been a service running area but atmosphere was a huge letdown. Food is also not quite up to the price point and arrived one by one - our cheese and tomato dish arrived last and was awkward with nothing to pair.
