Yummy this place is a hidden gem! Tucked away on the other side of Cabramatta, this place doesn't get enough attention. Best Laos food I've had in cabra and Fairfield. I highly recommend their food. Ox tongue was cooked perfectly, their papaya salad was amazing and super hot. The nam khao was super crispy and full of flavour. Was really blown away with the flavours. This is officially my go to place.

So happy we went against the crowd and went to the other side of the tracks for this restaurant. Definitely will go back again for the Lao Sausage that goes well with any of their savory salad or fresh veggie greens. We skipped rice or noodles as the ones we ordered are very filling enough. Yum yum yum!!!

We decided to try Viengchalern Lao & Thai Restaurant after a disappointing experience at another Lao restaurant on the other side of Cabra railway and we’re glad we did. The food was very good, great quality, generous portions and very good value. We ordered the tripe salad, tom yum soup, BBQ pork, deep fried quail and the pork intestine noodle soup. All the dishes was good and well prepared. The salads were a little sweeter than our personal taste, which is due to the regional style of cooking. Next time we’ll ask for a more savoury adjustment, as everything else was good. The boss and staff (aunties) were genuine people and friendly. Another thing we didn’t feel unusually thirsty after the meal, sometimes common with other Asian restaurants. We’ll be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic, Lao and Thai food.

On the other side of Cabramatta, lies an authentic Laos restaurant. Walked in and we were greeted by a lovely man. We wanted Laos dishes so we ordered the Laos sausage, Laos fried rice and Yum Woon Sen. Dishes came out quite quickly and we were served cold water. I asked for hot tea. Yum Woon Sen is squid and prawn salad with thin noodles, with spice level up to you (it's like papaya salad but Laos style), I really liked this dish. So was the Laos sausage.
