This has been my go-to restaurant for family gatherings and social events for years. It’s a reliable spot for good seafood and great flavour, about 90% of my visits have been great. Like any busy place, there are occasional off days where the food or service can be a bit inconsistent (a little too salty, a bit bland, or slower than usual), especially when they’re short-staffed or packed. But that’s understandable. Overall, I’ve never had a reason not to come back. Still one of my top choices after all these years.

I recently ordered takeaway from this restaurant in the afternoon and purchased two dishes: salted and pepper pork ribs and mixed tofu with vegetables. I was charged more than the prices listed on the menu. The staff member told me that paying by credit card would incur an additional 2% surcharge, so I paid $50.60 in cash. I did not request a receipt at the time, which I now regret. Unfortunately, both dishes were very bland and lacked flavour. The overall quality did not meet expectations. I strongly suggest the owner review staff practices regarding pricing and billing, as overcharging customers is unacceptable and damages trust. I will not be returning and would advise others to carefully check their bill when ordering from this restaurant.

We have visited this place a few times for family get-togethers. Our favourite seafood restaurant in Sydney is this one. Delicious food and excellent service. In particular, seafood is reasonably priced and extremely fresh. Strongly recommended.

Our last two visits (in May) have been fantastic! So I got talking with the younger waiter at the restaurant. Turns out they're under new management as of this year. Hence, the fresh paint, basic renovation and some new faces. If you love seafood, i recommended the Ginger shallot lobster with noodles, the Mud Crab with vermicelli, XO pipes with crispy noodles, Prawn with egg yolk (so buttery) and a side of mix veggies with tofu. Everything we ordered was cooked to our liking both times. Our waiter was friendly and helpful, making jokes. A big improvement from previous experience there. Bookings are recommended. Restaurants is suitable for small or large events with private rooms and large upstairs area.

Visited Dragon Bowl with a group of friends for a Sunday night meal. Definitely oversold by friend who may have been blinded by the fact the staff are nice to him. Overall the food wasn’t bad, but wasn’t as great as it had been claimed. The xo pippies were very underwhelming, vermicelli portion was bad and wasn’t cooked very well, or was just cooked much earlier on and then served to us. Can’t say I was a huge fan of the salted egg crab either, was ok, but definitely had better. Fried rice and the tofu dish were good and had a decent serving of those dishes. Veggies were a standout, cooked perfectly with the right amount of sauce and the barramundi was cooked well too, with the meat soft and tender. The abalone dish was a huge let down, felt it was more calamari than abalone, not a great dish at all. Shangdong chicken was also a big let down, we usually always order this dish when we eat at Chinese restaurants, this doesn’t rank too high. Overall a decent restaurant and worth a visit if you can pick and choose the right dishes, we probably need to improve in that area because some of the dishes are hit and miss.
