Let’s begin, we recently visited Fresh Off the Floor Marrickville Seafood, which is now under new management. There have definitely been some changes. It feels more like a fish wholesaler that’s also open to the public, and you can really notice the quality because of that. We ordered the fish cocktail pack (four fish cocktails with chips), a medium Greek salad, two potato scallops, and an additional four whiting fish cocktails that were recommended. Starting with the Greek salad — this really stood out. Normally at most places, it can be soft and a bit mushy, but this one was fresh and crunchy. The vegetables had a great bite, the olives tasted really good, and the feta cheese was very generous. The dressing was also delightful and tied everything together nicely. The serving size for a medium was more than enough for two people — we even had leftovers. The chips were great as well, with a nice chicken salt flavour — no complaints there. The standard fish cocktails that came with the chips were fantastic. They had a really nice crunch, which is rare at a lot of places, and the fish inside was juicy and flaky. The whiting fish cocktails were even better — you could really taste the freshness, and they had that perfect crunch on the outside. Definitely a step up and well worth the recommendation. Even the potato scallops were done really well — nice and crispy, just like everything else. The service was outstanding — very friendly and pleasant, and you couldn’t fault it. The place itself was clean, and they’ve made a few small changes to the seating, adding more space with both indoor and outdoor options, which is great to see. One thing to note is that their opening hours have changed. They now open from 11am and close at 9pm, which is a great improvement😀. With the later closing time, it’s a perfect option after work — instead of the usual fast food, you can come here around 6–7pm and enjoy fresh fish and chips that’s much more satisfying. By the end, we were struggling to finish, but we just couldn’t stop — kept laughing the whole time😂. That’s how good everything was!😋 Overall, it was a great experience. The food is fresh, full of flavour, and consistently crunchy, the service is excellent, and it’s a local business that deserves support. I definitely recommend giving it a try. 🍤

Went back again and had snapper and Greek salad and the fish was considerably inferior to the swordfish. And it cost $25, not $15. Such a big change from one visit to the next. Swordfish and salad as a daily special. For $15 is very good value as well as nice to eat.

Harry certainly has this Seafood shop humming. The seafood is fresh and very well Priced, the servings are very generous and nothing is too much trouble. Even when your 4 year old granddaughter spills her juice over the tablecloth and floor. I highly recommend visiting when you are on the lookout for exceptional food and service.

We ordered grilled fish and salad and ate in, and now can’t wait to go back. It was presented well, great serve size, absolutely delicious, and fish cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend.

Wanted to leave a review for the owners. Food is great however when we visited there I have seen on of the girls use her bare hands to put the chips to cook. She also continously held other things. I kindly asked her to use gloves and re cook our chips she was nice and didnt say anything - no sorry or anything however this is such a major food hygiene safety and issue. She sprayed the windows of the fish and cold area while the glass windows are open. Meanwhile the other lady gave us fantastic service. Food was nice but the yuck factor was there. Would be good to review the food hygiene and safety here as food is actually good
