I will not be returning to this restaurant. I visited yesterday and was informed that the blue crab they usually serve was unavailable, so they offered a substitute crab instead. Unfortunately, the quality was extremely disappointing. There was almost no edible meat in the crab. What little meat there was had dried out and was stuck to the shell, making it nearly impossible to scrape or eat. It felt as though the crab had either been frozen for too long or overcooked to the point of being inedible. Even after breaking the shells apart, there was essentially nothing to eat. It genuinely felt like I had been misled. I paid $100 (on a promotional price, excluding drinks), and honestly, at this price point, I would much rather dine elsewhere. If this is what is offered at a discounted price, I cannot understand why anyone would pay full price for this experience. And they put both in one bag. Other items such as mussels and baby octopus were also served in very small portions. After taking just a few pieces, there was barely anything left. I ordered a spicy flavor, but it was not spicy at all. The service was also slow, and the food took a long time to arrive. I came based on advertisements, but the overall experience was very disappointing. In the end, I left still hungry and went to a Vietnamese restaurant afterwards.

It was good first experience. I had seafood after a long time and it was good. We got the mini bag with extra crawfish and half lobster. We took mild spice which was still spicier than expected. I think we ordered too much crawfish but it was still good. I recommend having a white rice with the food as it comes with a nice curry and it tastes good while mixed with the rice.

It was a very quiet night when we visited, with only one other table dining at the same time. The young lady serving us was helpful, professional, and kind, which we genuinely appreciated. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to expectations. The classic bag was particularly disappointing. While the prawns and mussels were average, the mud crab was mostly empty and clearly previously frozen, with a mushy texture. We were offered a replacement, but when it arrived, it was undercooked, still mushy, and again mostly empty—completely inedible. This was especially disappointing as we had been looking forward to a seafood boil for over a year and had travelled interstate for the experience. To make matters worse, we were told upon arrival that there were no Moreton Bay bugs or crawfish available. We also ordered the shrimp martini, which was fine, but at $59.99 it felt overpriced for what was essentially something we could have easily prepared at home for a fraction of the cost. Overall, the experience was very underwhelming and disappointing.

Had an amazing dining experience at Kickin’Inn Crows Nest! The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and served in generous portions. The signature sauce was absolutely delicious, and the fun seafood boil experience made the meal even more enjoyable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. If you’re looking for great seafood and excellent service, this place is definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended!
