Went here for lunch today and got the steamed rice with two choices – sweet and sour pork and salt and pepper squid. Portion sizes were decent for the price. The sweet and sour pork was good – juicy with a nice crispy exterior, and the sauce leaned on the sweeter side. The salt and pepper squid was tender, but the coating wasn’t very crispy and could’ve used more seasoning. The steamed rice wasn’t great – it was too mushy and took away from the meal. The spring roll was crispy and delicious.
Very generous portion of meals. 14$ for fried rice and 2 dishes! Meats / Beefs are soft and tasty. So value for price. We loved the food here. Definitely recommendable. Good job. PS: and the servers are waiting for you to order. They serve you fast even in long queue!
Best Hainanese Chicken Rice 海南雞飯 at Macquarie Shopping Centre! You can ask them to have less or no chili oil. For less than $15 per serve with good portion of chicken & rice. Chicken is always freshly prepared, sumptuous & tangy. I tried many of their yummy dishes as well $15 for 2 choices of delicious sweet & sour pork, satay chicken, chili tofu, Mongolian beef. Very tasty meal for $15!
We were at Macquarie Centre one day and decided to try this food court joint for a quick lunch. I ordered the Hainan Chicken and my friend ordered two of the choices with rice. My chicken was cooked to perfection. It was perfectly tender and they were so generous with the rice and sauce. My friend’s order was not too bad. I think it was honey chicken and squid. It was pretty typical food court food - it was scoop and serve and a bit on the salty side. We both thought it was quite good and reasonably priced. The chicken was $13 and the 2 choices was around that ballpark. Overall I recommend this place. The staff members were quite friendly for food court staff. I guess the fact it is in the food court killed the atmosphere a bit (too many people…too noisy). Anyway, we will be back.
This was genuinely one of the worst meals I have ever eaten. My first bite was literally a mouthful of salt. Every bite after that was a struggle. Would not return.
