I visited Shoga Japanese Kitchen at Lachlan’s Square for dinner and ordered the eel bento, priced at $27. The presentation was neat and inviting, with the classic balance of rice, sides, and the main dish. The eel itself was tender and flavourful, offering that rich, slightly sweet taste you expect from a well-prepared unagi. The portion size felt fair for the price, and the bento format made it a satisfying, complete meal. The atmosphere at Shoga is casual yet modern, making it a convenient spot for a relaxed dinner in the area. Overall, it’s a good option if you’re looking for Japanese comfort food in Lachlan’s Square. #ShogaJapaneseKitchen #dinner

I had a Bento box at lunch first time here. I had a very nice table outside for myself to chill out. When Cathy brought my Bento box, I stood up to get something from inside the restaurant, but accidentally flipped Bento box with my arm, and it dropped on the floor. Cathy calmly said, 'it's OK,' and came back to clean up the mess. I tried to get another one as this was totally my carelessness, but she declined my payment and brought another Bento box. This kind of service with kindness and generousity absolutely made my day, and I really enjoyed your yummy food in very nice atmosphere. I'll definitely come back, and please pass my big thank you to the chef. Thank you.

This place is situated in Lachlan’s Village in North Ryde. Generally the environment is quite nice for lunch as you can sit outside and enjoy the park view. We had the wagyu udon and found the broth a bit salty and lacking in flavour. The udon it self was nice and has a great texture. The beef was average and not sure whether it is wagyu. Overall the shop has a nice ambience. I probably won’t return based on this one dish, but might want to return to try their other offerings.

Very nice little Japanese restaurant. The food is good, and the location is also good. I enjoyed the meal here a few weeks ago and had a beautiful view of the park.
