The chilli and basil rice was full of flavour, and the flat rice noodles were perfectly cooked. The laksa was excellent — rich, well-balanced, and very satisfying. Definitely a place worth revisiting for Thai food lovers.
So disappointing… my family and I used to go here often a couple years back loving this place. I brought my partner with me today as I spoke highly of this place after not coming back in 2 years ( his first time here ). We love Thai food and his parents run an authentic Thai restaurant and the food today was beyond comprehensible. Everything looked great when it came but it was so tasteless I thought my tongue was playing tricks on me. The fried rice was okay , not as flavourful as I remember but nothing bad to say about it. Salt and pepper squid that I used to eat 3 servings of (my brother and I used to compete for) was bland… like how can a salt and pepper squid not taste like pepper… questionable… literally just tasted like breading, still didn’t think it was a big of a deal to complain but when my partner had his pad see ew… it was soo tasteless and no veg at all he had to serve it back. Him being white ( some people may say he doesn’t know what it’s suppose to taste like , but mind you his step mum owns 3 authentic Thai restaurants here in Sydney, he’s had it so many times it was disgusting to him). Me being in shock, I tried it and it was SO TASTELESS like they watered the soy sauce down so bad. How can you serve that? We returned it hoping to get it right this time only to be served with it DROWNED IN SAUCE , mind you this was literally dark dark brown in SAUCE. We packed it in a take away and left and swore to never go back there again. I never felt so betrayed by a restaurant I spoke so highly of. The photos of when they were served to us..
We ordered whole fried Barramundi.. The food we ordered was very bland and tasteless. The apple salad was ok but very disappointed with the fish. We love whole fried fish and eat out often. This is so far the worst experience . 50 bucks for such a bland food..
I had an extremely disappointing and upsetting experience at Hi Thai Blacktown, Westpoint. What should have been a simple dining experience turned into a stressful and disrespectful situation. We placed our order clearly, but the wrong dish was served to us. When we politely raised the issue, instead of acknowledging a possible mistake from their staff, the team immediately became defensive and started shifting the blame onto us. There was no attempt to listen, understand, or resolve the concern professionally. What made the situation even worse was the behavior of the manager, Young. His conduct was completely unacceptable. Rather than handling the issue calmly, he raised his voice and started shouting at us in front of others, which was both embarrassing and shocking. As paying customers, we expected at least basic courtesy and respect, but instead, we were treated in a humiliating manner. Despite having paid for all the food, we were asked to leave, without any effort to resolve the issue or even acknowledge that there could have been a misunderstanding or error on their part. It was clear that customer service and accountability are not a priority at this establishment. This experience left us feeling disrespected and deeply disappointed. No customer should be treated this way, especially when raising a genuine concern. I strongly urge the management to look into this matter seriously, provide proper training to staff on communication and conflict resolution, and ensure that no other customer has to go through such a disgraceful experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone based on how poorly situations are handled and how customers are treated.
Literally "Top of the Top"! Hi Thai is officially our "top on the top" spot—mostly because it’s literally sitting on the top floor of Westpoint Shopping Center! 🏙️ I’m a huge fan of Thai food, whether it’s served with rice, noodles, or just packed with veggies. But let's talk about those vegetables for a second. They prepare them in a way I could never cook at home. They are so fresh, crunchy and perfectly cooked. Take the broccoli, for example. When I cook it at home, I feel like Sid from Ice Age: "Look! A disgusting vegetable!" 🥦But here? It’s actually delicious! I don’t know what kind of magic they use, but I’m suddenly a fan of broccoli (and don't even get me started on the zucchini—it’s a total game-changer here too). Just to be clear. Warning! This isn't a promoted or pre-paid post. I’m just a happy customer! (Though, let’s be honest, I wouldn’t exactly resist some "special treatment" or extra meal in exchange for my glowing review... 😉). If you’re at Westpoint, definitely head upstairs and give them a try!
