No reservations for a group of 4. We were accommodated with very reasonable waiting time on a busy Sunday. Service was very good. Food was delicious but it's not something I will crave for. Dessert was the highlight for me. The fried ice cream is definitely a must for everyone. It will put a smile on your face.

The interior is beautiful. It’s clean, and seems like a great place to have gatherings. - Duck Red Curry 3.8/5 I thought this curry had a lot of flavor. The duck was a bit dry, but still delicious. Does not come with rice so order rice. - Marinated Lamb 5/5 The marinated lamb was delicious. It had a charcoal taste to it which made it even better. The lamb was so tender. [RECOMMEND] - Deep Fried Ice Cream 3.1/5 I thought this was okay. The fresh passion fruit was the best part. The toasted coconut added a nice texture. Parking in behind lot free 1 hour.

We visited Holy Basil in Canley Heights hoping for a bold Thai feed. Sadly, the overall experience landed somewhere just above average. We started with the Home Made Curry Puffs — four crispy vegetable triangles packed with potato, peas, carrot, and corn. They were golden, crunchy, and satisfying, though not particularly punchy on the curry front. The Soft Shell Crab came lightly battered, tossed in salt and pepper, and fried to a nice crunch. It was served with two sauces, which helped lift the dish. Flavour-wise, it was decent but not standout. The Duck Mince Salad lacked the level of spicy we requested. The dish itself was fresh, fragrant, but it did not have the savoury or spice kick. The Holy Basil Fried Rice with chicken – wasn't packed with chilli or basil. It did have the Chinese broccoli, onions, bamboo, and 2 pieces cucumber. Unfortunately, the chef again missed the mark on our requested spice level. We had to request for fresh chilli on the side to rectify the spice level we desired. The biggest downside? 30-minute wait time for a table to become available. Given you can’t make advance bookings, that wait really tests your patience. Overall, the meals were decent but not unforgettable. If you’re in the area and don’t mind a potential wait, it’s worth a try — just be ready to ask for extra heat yourself, if you enjoy spicy food. As for authentic Thai cuisine that we love, this establishment, unfortunately does not deliver. On a side note, parking can be difficult and the establishment does become very noisy during peak time.

Very clean, well presented Thai authentic restaurant. Haven't been since they first opened up in 2009 ever since the restaurant got popular. Food was amazing and well presented, friendly staff.

"We had a truly fantastic time at Holy Basil recently. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, but what really made the night stand out for us was the service. Our server, Anna, was absolutely wonderful. She was so attentive and kind, making sure we had everything we needed without ever being 'bossy' or rushing us. She served our family with such a friendly smile and genuine warmth, which we truly appreciated. It’s rare to find someone who manages a busy floor with that much grace! As for the food, it was spectacular as always. We shared the Crispy Snapper, which was perfectly cooked, and of course, we couldn't leave without the famous Fried Ice Cream—it’s a family favorite for a reason. Between the delicious flavors and Anna’s top-tier hospitality, it was a perfect 'good things' kind of night. We’ll definitely be back and will be asking for Anna’s section again!"
