Great portion size and price. Lunch special curries were only $14.9-16.9 with a choice of soft drink/water. However both green curry and red curry were way too sweet, we could just taste the creaminess and sweetness rather than curry taste. We told the staff members that the curries were way too sweet, they offered us fish sauce and soy sauce which I seriously wonder if these sauces can solve over sweetness. They also mentioned that the taste is standard.
My favourite Thai restaurant! I hope they never ever close down because I would be devastated 🥹 I get takeaway all the time & the food is always piping hot 🔥 They have some good lunch specials too! 👍
We loved everything that we ordered! From the fried fish to the beef soup to the salad. Yum! Staffs are attentive and friendly too! Will come again next time!
Had a great experience dining at Maenam Lao and Thai! The food was absolutely delicious — each dish was full of bold, authentic flavors. The banana blossom salad stood out the most — incredibly fragrant and refreshing, with a perfect balance of textures and taste. The ox tongue was another highlight: unbelievably tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Portions were generous and satisfying. The service was warm and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. The ambience of the place is cozy and welcoming — great for a casual meal or a special night out. Highly recommend trying this place if you’re into vibrant, authentic Lao and Thai cuisine!
I have eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed. I had dinner here last week with two other people. The staff were lovely and the service was SO quick. We ordered the sizzling seafood platter, pad see iew and Massaman beef curry. The seafood dish was fairly small but tasty. The pad see iew noodles were in a generous serving and delicious. But the best dish by far was the Massaman curry. It was excellent! It was a huge serving of thick, rich and creamy sauce and lots of beef and potato chunks. It was great value for money and one of the best Massaman curries I've had in Sydney. I will definitely order it again on my next visit here.
