Really unfortunate visit to P'Nut Balmain. P'Nut is a franchised fast food style Thai offering. Both myself and dining partner both ended up with an upset stomach starting late that evening. We didnt eat anything else after lunch so can only attribute it to this. Mine is still going 24 hours later. Only one staff member working at lunch on Saturday, taking orders and cooking solo. We ordered two lunch specials $14.90 - Mongolian Chicken with rice and Singapore Noodles with Chicken. Service was slow as we expected it would be and our food came at different times. Got a combo upgrade for $5 with a can of pepsi and 2 small spring rolls with dipping sauce. The portions were small. The Mongolian sauce was sickly sweet and the Singapore noodles didnt have any savoury depth of flavour just overpowered with curry powder. The carrots in the noodles were too thick and raw. I had suspicions about if the chicken was undercooked at the time as it looks like it might have been par boiled before getting a blast in the wok. Dining area is tired and bench seating is very worn. The menu screens kept flickering and you could hardly get a look at the lunch specials which were not on the printed menu at the counter. All the other Thai restaurants on the high street only open for dinner. Have dined at their Olympic Park store before without event.

My local go to for good quality asian food at an affordable price. I especially like it when Nhi and Chef Seksan are working. I like the member rewards (i.e., free roti at 75 points and $10 off deal) and the occassional offers.

Craving noodles? This place definitely hits the spot. The dishes are packed with flavour, served fresh and hot, with generous portions that are surprisingly filling. The Pad Thai, Laksa, and Penang-style noodles are crowd favourites, and the sauces are rich and well-balanced. Service is usually quick, making it a great option for a casual lunch or dinner in Balmain. Overall, tasty, satisfying, and good value for money.

This might be the worst meal I’ve ever had. It was inedible. If you want good Vietnamese food, definitely head to New Star down the road. I will never be going back here.
