Nice restaurant serving Thai food, with lovely staff, located near Epping station. We were a group of 4 and the food we ordered was more than enough. We booked the 5pm slot on a Sunday when they just opened for dinner. The restaurant soon filled up - it got a bit loud and busy. The coconut prawns were nice and crispy. The squid was nice. The Thai milk tea was tasty and the portion was well sized. We got tom kha which was delicious (so nice I forgot to take a photo oops). The crispy pork belly was actually crispy which was great Staff is very nice and attentive, regularly came to collect empty plates and bring full water bottles to our table. Overall I think the seafood salad and coconut prawns were my favourite dishes but everything was tasty. Portion sizes were reasonable too - mains are generally $20-$30.

I used to be a regular at Thai Place Epping, a cosy restaurant near the railway station that sadly closed in mid‑2024. I always appreciated their friendly waitresses who served with smiles and polite attitude, and even the chef would step out to deliver dishes when the staff were busy with phone orders and takeaways. Their food was consistently delicious and reasonably priced compared to other Thai restaurants, which made it a favourite stop after work. After Thai Place closed, I felt a bit lost as a frequent diner and began searching for another Thai option nearby. I tried Spoonful Thai Epping a few times, but the experience was quite different. The staff felt distant and gave the impression of rushing diners to finish so tables could be turned over quickly. Even small items like sauce dishes were charged separately, which added to the sense that the focus was more on money than hospitality. While the restaurant presents itself with a fine‑dining style, the atmosphere didn’t feel welcoming for locals who simply want a relaxed meal after a long day at work. Laksa was not creamy like described in the menu. The texture was more like liquid soup. 😭 I won’t complain about the taste though. It was nice and sweet! 😋 I just want creamy laksa!

What a warm and inviting restaurant! Food was great, service was prompt. A lovely evening out with my daughter. Was so nice to enjoy a meal without being rushed. Our waitress Prim was so friendly and topped off a lovely evening. We will be back.

The menu is full of choices from entrees, salad, meat dishes, curry dishes to dessert. We've cinnamon duck and char grilled lamb cutlets. Both are loaded with flavors.
