I had lunch today at Vietnamese restaurant and ordered bánh hỏi nem nướng, expecting the traditional grilled pork served with bánh hỏi. However, when the dish arrived, I honestly could not recognize it. The meat looked more like fried pork patties rather than nem nướng, which is normally grilled. I specifically ordered this dish because I did not want fried food, so this was quite disappointing. When I asked the owner about it, the explanation was simply that this is how they make it here, and they do not know how other places prepare the dish. I found that quite strange. The owner is Vietnamese and I am Vietnamese as well, so it was surprising that a well-known dish like nem nướng was served in a completely different way. The service experience was also confusing. When I asked for an extra plate to make rolls, the staff brought a small oval plate that was not really suitable. Then when I asked for a small bowl for the dipping fish sauce, I was given a large soup bowl instead. Overall, the experience left me quite puzzled. I was expecting a familiar Vietnamese dish, but what was served very different from what the name suggests. They should change the name of this dish

I’m a regular customer and these guys are the real deal when it comes to authentic hearty Vietnamese cuisine. Generous servings, kind and welcoming staff, beautiful aesthetic atmosphere and very affordable pricing. I always get the special pho with no tripe (preference) and are never disappointed with the service and quality of food. The broth is so flavourful, the serving size is so generous and everything is just perfect. Love coming here pretty much every week, just tried their crispy pork belly with rice and what a generous serving of pork holy crap! Love you guys, keep up the great work and service, you guys are amazing ☺️

I’ve been coming here for many years and this place has never disappointed me. 👌 The menu offers a wide selection of dishes, each packed with flavour and consistently well-prepared. Easily one of if not the best Vietnamese restaurants in Campbelltown. The staff are always quick, friendly, and welcoming, and the atmosphere makes every visit an enjoyable experience.

Honestly not sure how this place sits at 4.3 stars, it deserves a full 5. As a Vietnamese person, my partner and I were craving a bowl of phở while we were at Macarthur Square, so we thought we’d give Golden Lotus a try. Who knew there was such a hidden gem inside the centre? I ordered the phở đặc biệt (special combination) and my partner got the bún bò Huế. Both were incredible. The broth was rich, clean, and full of flavour - genuinely better than a lot of spots we’ve tried in Cabra and even better than Phở An in Bankstown. The BBH was honestly arguably the best I’ve ever had. The aunty serving us was also so lovely and warm, which made the whole experience even better. They’ve got amazing sate that’s self-serve, the avocado shake was spot on, and they even take Amex. It’s everything you want in a Vietnamese restaurant and more. Can’t recommend this place enough - we’ll definitely be back!

Golden Lotus at Macarthur Square is always a great experience and it’s my friend and I’s go-to spot. The staff are consistently welcoming, friendly, and helpful, and the atmosphere is really nice. My go-to is the Pad Thai (chicken or prawn) — always delicious, fresh, full of flavour, and a generous serving. The drinks are great too, especially the coconut juice. Highly recommend!
