I came here tonight for dinner and was blown away by both the food and service. I got the prawn summer rolls as an entree which was so delicious and came with a peanut sauce to die for. For main I had the chicken Pho which was wonderfully authentic and the serving size was so generous. My sister had the beef Pho was was amazing as well. The service was fast and friendly. Will definitely be back!
Huong Giang is the first Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to in Marrickville that’s not on Illawarra Road (and I’ve been to a lot of over many years). The Special Pho (Dac Biet) here is by far the very best I have tried. From the intense depth of flavour and balance of the broth, to the authentic rice noodles used (as in the proper Viet type) and the generous serve of meat and veg/herbs. Everything just combined beautifully. The pho and other items on the menu are quite reasonably priced, with excellent service to go with it from the two young guys on the floor. Very highly recommended and I’m sure anyone who hasn’t tried Huong Giang before will be in for a nice pleasant surprise.
1/5/26 - 3 stars This is sadly the first time I've not had a great experience at a Vietnamese restaurant in Marrickville. The joint is actually very popular and extremely busy, which was reassuring, but, this is part of the downfall as the place is really understaffed. Many customers are left waiting 30-45mins for dishes or even just drinks/water. The food was not impressive either and the price point is not exceptional. Banh xeo Flavour: S, 8/10. Texture: A, 7/10. Edges were good but centre had way too much batter. Value: A, 7/10. Pretty big but $20 is not super worth. Sugarcane vermicelli Flavour: A, 7/10. A little sweet and a little umami but not noteworthy. Texture: S, 8/10. Decent mix of fresh ingredients Value: A, 7/10. $19 Pho tai lan Broth: A, 7/10. Savoury but lacking depth and that stir fried taste Beef: A, 7/10. Not very tender or crispy Noodles: S, 8/10. Value: A, 7/10. $19. Have had better in Marrickville
Really sweet people who work here. The servings were huge and great flavours. They were so nice not to kick us out even though we came at closing time. Sorry to make you guys work late. We came in a big group and they were so accomodating. Thank you.
Constantly looking for the best BBH (Bun Bo Hue) in Sydney and this was definitely Top 3. The phó was OK because it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Great service, lots of parking and the ambience was pleasant. This restaurant has air-conditioning. Parking was easy.
