Every dish arrived with confidence, but the standout was the rare beef pho. The broth delivered remarkable depth of flavour—rich, fragrant and beautifully layered, striking a delicate balance between tangy sweetness and a gentle, lingering spice. Thin slices of rare beef cooked effortlessly in the steaming broth, making every mouthful deeply satisfying. The pepper beef with tomato rice was equally impressive. Succulent beef was coated in a glossy pepper sauce that perfectly balanced salty, sweet and peppery notes, while the tomato rice added a subtle richness that tied the entire dish together. The fresh spring rolls provided the perfect contrast—light, vibrant and packed with crisp herbs. Every bite showcased the freshness of the ingredients, with the aromatics shining through to create a clean, refreshing finish. Together, the meal was a wonderful showcase of balance, flavour and authenticity.
As a Vietnamese, I was disappointed with this restaurant. We ordered Mi Quang and Pho. The Pho was salty and over-salted, with a strong MSG flavour. Mi Quang usually comes with rice crackers, but it was served first and the crackers didn’t arrive until we politely asked the male staff. He responded with a dismissive “Just wait,” which we found rude. It felt like he was treating us like beggars instead of a customer. We ended up waiting 10 minutes without crackers. We won’t be returning and don’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.
i had com tam for dinner and the lady gave us two cups, orange and blue. i started eating already and used the cup(blue), i didn’t see anything since it’s a dark cup and i can’t see clearly since it’s night time. when i had my 3rd drink, i saw some molds and dirts inside the cup, i thought it’s from the outside but when i checked it again it’s inside. i am still calm and talked to the lady who served us, but the thing is that she just said “ah” and replaced the cup and didn’t even say sorry. and for what? she should’ve checked the cups she’s serving before she give it to her customers. by the way, the lady was always on her phone. after serve, phone. after replacing cup, phone. she should know better because she looks middle aged already. i don’t really rate restaurants but this is unacceptable.
Pho Viet does a great pho, but their Mì Quảng is the real winner. It features wide turmeric noodles in a small amount of intense broth, packed with pork, shrimp, chicken, and herbs for a huge explosion of flavor.
The Mog Champ sends his regards. First time trying mi quang which is their signature. It was delicious and warming compared to pho which I'd have for Vietnamese cuisine. Ordered it along with an iced black coffee which was quite sweet too unlike your usual black coffees you'd get outside of Vietnamese restaurants! It's another dish to add to my list of dishes besides my usual orders of pho and crispy skin chicken with rice. Service is fast and the seating is spacious inside. Thanks for the food Pho Viet!
