Combination vermicelli salad: 5/7 - $22 Get to try so many of their popular dishes! It’s a huge serving for one person… Spring rolls: 4/7 Overhyped… Would be higher if there wasn’t this weird inner layer of skin that’s a bit tacky and chewy… Filling is great though, and outer skin is very crispy Sugarcane prawn: 6/7 What you should really come to this restaurant for. It’s just a big prawn ball - really highlights natural sweetness of the prawn and is well made to be really bouncy. Lemongrass pork: 5/7 Not mind blowing, but great fundamentals. Tender and well balanced flavours.
This place offers a great variety of signature Vietnamese dishes. It's always easy to get a table and the food is prepared within a reasonable amount of time. I usually stick to the Mi Viet Tiem (Duck Noodle Soup), Bun Bo La Lot (Betel Leaf Rice Noodle) and the Gia Gio. Super convenient for me as I frequently commute between Sydney and Canberra.
Thankful this place stays open past 8pm for a late dinner. All we felt like was beef noodle soup given the time of day however I’m glad to have ordered the spring roll vermicelli bowl too which was decent. Large servings and comforting beef pho making good value.
Saw others reviewing the Springrolls and had to give it a taste. It was actually really good and tasted balanced. The meat and vegetables really stood out and contrasted with the crunch of the wrapping. The only problem was the cost and the amount, as its 20$ for 4 springtails, although they were large sized (which is why I took off points for the service). It could be considered a small meal. Would definitely go again just for the spring rolls.
Typical Asian restaurant with tables and chairs quite close to each other. The menu is extensive and it is in Vietnamese & English. The dish I had today is light, refreshing and tasty after mixing in the salad dressing. There is a debate as to which shop serves the best pho - Phu Quoc or the shop next to it - Pho Tau Bay. But both these 2 shops serve good authentic Vietnamese food. I enjoyed my lunch.
