Tucked among the city’s best dining spots, this Japanese BBQ restaurant easily stands out as a long time favourite and with good reason. As one of the oldest Japanese BBQ establishments in Sydney, it carries a sense of tradition and consistency that’s hard to find, having earned its reputation over the years. The menu is impressively versatile, showcasing a thoughtful selection of premium cuts from beautifully marbled Japanese wagyu to high-quality Australian beef. Each option is carefully prepared and perfectly suited for the grill, allowing the natural flavours to shine. Whether you prefer something rich and indulgent or lean and flavourful, there’s a cut to match every preference. Beyond the barbecue, the offering extends into a well rounded selection of classic Japanese dishes. From fresh sashimi to comforting hot sides, everything complements the grilling experience and adds depth to the meal. What truly elevates the experience is the beverage program. The wine list is carefully curated with excellent pairings for grilled meats, while the sake selection is extensive and thoughtfully chosen perfect for both seasoned enthusiasts and those looking to explore. With its warm, energetic ambience and attentive service, this restaurant continues to deliver on all fronts. It’s not just a place for great food, it’s a Sydney institution that keeps people coming back time and time again.

The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice. It is a relatively high-end Japanese barbecue restaurant, and the service attitude is also very good. The staff will patiently introduce the characteristics of different parts of wagyu beef and recommend ways to eat it. Moreover, the open grill makes the entire dining process more engaging. Chatting while slowly grilling the meat makes people feel very relaxed. It is quite suitable for having a meal with family and friends or for celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. The Wagyu beef is super rich in fat. When you take a bite, your mouth bursts with juice. It's really fragrant! It's delicious no matter how you grill it, and it melts in your mouth. You can pair it with radish puree with yuzu vinegar or wasabi and chili sauce, all of which are very refreshing and not greasy

One of the best yakiniku experiences I’ve had in Sydney. The A5 Kagoshima Wagyu Premium Plate was absolutely amazing with beautiful marbling and a rich, buttery flavour. The Wagyu Oyster Blade and Chuck Rib had a great balance of tenderness and beefy flavour, and the thick-cut beef tongue was incredibly juicy and delicious. Don’t skip the stone pot rice to finish the meal! The newly renovated interior is elegant and gives a premium Tokyo yakiniku vibe. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a Wagyu lover.

We visited last night for a family birthday dinner, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. For a large group, we opted for the $150 per person set menu, which was a fantastic decision. It completely took the stress out of ordering and allowed us to just focus on the celebration. The quality of the ingredients was clearly premium. The standout was the Wagyu tenderloin—it was incredibly tender and literally melted in our mouths. The meal was perfectly balanced with: Sides: Fresh salads and a variety of flavorful side dishes. Accompaniments: Classic white fluffy rice and comforting miso soup. Portion Size: Often set menus can be hit or miss, but this was the perfect amount of food. We all left feeling full and content. Service & Ambiance The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and cozy, making it ideal for a long, relaxed dinner. Despite us being a big group, the wait staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, ensuring our glasses were full and the courses flowed perfectly. If you’re looking for an enjoyable, high-end, and stress-free group dining experience, this set menu is definitely worth it. We had a brilliant night and would highly recommend it!

Halal Japnese style BBQ... 📍 We had an amazing experience at Rengaya Sydney. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and professional. Their hospitality truly made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout the evening. The ambiance is beautiful — a perfect mix of elegant and cozy, with an authentic Japanese-style yakiniku vibe. They also offer private dining rooms, which is a great option for families or special occasions. The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was perfectly presented and full of flavor. We especially loved the Wagyu Nigiri Sushi, Wagyu Carpaccio, Foil-Grilled Corn, Wagyu Short Rib, and Wagyu Oyster Blade — everything was cooked to perfection. The drinks, including lemonade, lychee, and mint lemon, were refreshing and complemented the meal really well. It’s also great to see halal options available, making it a fantastic choice for the halal community. Overall, a premium dining experience with top-quality food, excellent service, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend and would definitely visit again! #rabylovesfood Instahandle - Rabylovesfood
